May 8- AmCham Visit to the Estonia Piano Factory

May 8, 2025 | 15:00 ‒ 17:00

A Long-Awaited Journey into Craftsmanship and Sound

On May 8, AmCham Estonia members were treated to an extraordinary and long-anticipated experience: a private tour of the Estonia Piano Factory—an iconic symbol of Estonian craftsmanship and musical excellence. Nestled in the heart of Tallinn’s vibrant Kalamaja neighborhood, the factory opened its doors to reveal the artistry, precision, and family legacy behind each handcrafted Estonia grand piano.

Leading the tour were Dr. Indrek Laul, owner of the Estonia Piano Factory and President of AmCham Estonia, and his wife Triin Laul, who is deeply involved in the daily operations of the family-run business. Their personal insights and passion for the craft brought a unique depth to the experience, as members explored all five floors of the recently renovated facility—some areas still actively undergoing transformation.

From the initial wood selection to the final tuning, every step in the piano-making process was on display, offering attendees a rare behind-the-scenes look at how Estonia’s world-renowned instruments come to life. The combination of tradition, innovation, and meticulous attention to detail was nothing short of inspiring.

The highlight of the visit came at the conclusion of the tour, when the Laul family gave a heartfelt musical performance. Dr. Indrek Laul, Triin Laul, and their youngest son Bruno Laul took to the piano, with Bruno performing his original composition titled “Sans toi.” It was a beautiful and touching finale that brought the spirit of the factory—and the family behind it—to life.

We extend our deepest gratitude to the Laul family for hosting this unforgettable event and sharing their passion and talent with our members. This visit was not only a celebration of Estonian craftsmanship but also a meaningful reminder of the power of music and tradition.
